Adult Counsellor

At South East and Central Essex Mind, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, professional mental health support when they need it.

We're looking for experienced and compassionate Adult Counsellors to join our team, supporting adults experiencing a range of emotional and mental health challenges.

Working across our core counselling services, funded programmes and community initiatives, you'll provide person-centred therapeutic support, helping individuals navigate difficult experiences and strengthen their emotional wellbeing.

About the opportunity

  • Contract: Flexible contracted role

  • Location: Southend-on-Sea and online

  • Hours: Flexible, according to client and service demand, including some evenings and occasional weekends

Who we're looking for

We're seeking qualified counsellors with experience supporting adults, current registration with a recognised professional body and a strong commitment to safe, ethical and inclusive practice.

You'll bring empathy, professionalism and the ability to respond sensitively to a range of individual needs, while working collaboratively with our wider therapy team.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a local independent Mind charity committed to reducing stigma, preventing crisis and promoting positive mental wellbeing.
