Managers Guide to Mental Health
Course duration: Half Day
Course price per person: £215
Managers play an important role in creating a workplace where people feel able to talk about mental health and access support when they need it. This half-day course helps line managers understand their responsibilities, recognise when someone may be struggling, and respond with confidence, compassion and appropriate boundaries.
The course explores the difference between mental health and mental illness, common signs of poor mental health, and some of the factors that may increase risk. Participants will also consider the legal context, how to begin supportive conversations, and how to signpost people to appropriate help.
The session also covers more sensitive workplace situations, including self-harm, suicidal thoughts, bereavement and bullying, helping managers understand what they can do, where their role begins and ends, and when further support is needed.
