Research Volunteer

This year we have started conducting research with an aim to understand and champion the voices of those with lived experience; putting those who use our services at the heart of everything we do.

We currently have project researching:

  • Neurodiversity and mental health – how to use community based support to improve outcomes for neurodiverse adults.

  • LGBTQ+ & mental health

  • Mental health in rural and coastal communities

We are looking for research volunteers to work with our team and help support this vital work in the community.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is interesting in gaining experience in applied social sciences. You may be studying a social sciences degree or undertaking your A- levels or just have a passion for community-based action and growth.

Potential activities could include:

  • Helping with facilitating workshop activities

  • Supporting with data entry and data analysis

  • Supporting with reporting research findings

  • Supporting with administrative duties

We ask for potential research volunteers to be able to commit to up to 4 hours a week for 6 months. You must also be aged 18+ and have GCSE Maths and English.

No previous research experience is needed, just a willingness to help support our cause!

If you are interested in helping us in some way, please fill out our short form below or email us at community@secemind.org.uk to express your interest, thank you!
