SECE Mind partners with CrossFit Rayleigh to support local young people
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Damon Fouch, owner of Rayleigh CrossFit, to launch two exciting initiatives aimed at supporting young people in our community. Thanks to funding from National Mind, we will be delivering both a CrossFit Teens Group and a Walk and Talk Group, completely free for young people aged 11-18.
This collaboration brings together expert fitness coaching, compassionate mental health and wellbeing support, and the power of community to create safe, supportive spaces where young people can grow stronger – physically, emotionally and socially.
Damon Fouch, Owner of CrossFit Rayleigh added,
“This is a great way to show the power of the CrossFit community and what it gives to so many already.. With the support of SECE mind behind us, we can support so many more people withing surrounding community”
Dr David Sollis, CEO of SECE Mind said:
“This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire and support young people of the Rayleigh area through physical and mental health project. The charity is delighted to have received funding from National Mind and our new partnership with CrossFit Rayleigh reinforces our commitment to reduce, prevent and promote better mental health.”
CrossFit Teens Group: Building Strength and Confidence
Led by Damon at CrossFit Rayleigh, the CrossFit Teens Group is specifically designed to help young people build:
· Strength
· Endurance
· Confidence
· Resilience
Through structured CrossFit-style training participants will learn proper movement techniques, work as a team, and set achievable fitness goals. The programme is tailored to suit all abilities, encouraging a sense of progress and self-belief in every session.
This isn’t just about lifting weights – this is about lifting each other up, building resilience, and helping young people feel strong in both body and mind.
Walk and Talk Group: Movement, Mindfulness, and Connection
Our Walk and Talk Group offers a more relaxed, open setting to support young people’s mental and physical wellbeing. Each week, participants will explore different local routes, discovering the benefits of:
· Gentle movement
· Fresh air
· Open conversations
In a calm and non-judgmental environment, these walks create space for young people to connect, share, reflect, and simply enjoy being outside. Led by trained facilitators, this group is about moving at your own pace – physically and emotionally – and supporting one another through life’s ups and downs.
These groups are open to all young people aged 11-18, with no previous experience needed. Whether you’re looking to get stronger, feel better, or simply connect with others, we welcome you to join us.
