Shared Space Raises £1,283 for SECE Mind During Mental Health Awareness Week
Shared Space, a Christian charity shop in Westcliff-on-Sea, has raised £1,283 in support of SECE Mind, helping to fund vital mental health services across Southend and the surrounding areas.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, Shared Space staff and volunteers came together to promote positive mental wellbeing and raise awareness of local mental health needs. The team organised a week of community-focused activities, culminating in a sponsored charity walk on Sunday, 18th May.
The walk began at the Westcliff shop and continued to the Southchurch branch, finishing with a scenic stroll along Southend seafront. The day wrapped up with a well-deserved treat—chips and curry sauce enjoyed together by all participants!
Thanks to generous match funding from Shared Space, the final fundraising total reached an impressive £1,283. Every pound will go directly to SECE Mind, supporting their mission to provide accessible, compassionate mental health support for local people.
“Shared Space are so pleased to be able to support SECE MIND. Our volunteers got moving for their mental health and had a great time on their sponsored walk! This is what Shared Space is all about; helping the local community and raising hope.”
Shared Space is more than just a charity shop—it’s a growing Christian network with locations across Southend, dedicated to transforming lives through volunteering, skills training, and supporting local causes.
We are incredibly grateful to volunteers and staff for their commitment and kindness. Their efforts are making a real difference in our community.
“This is a wonderful donation from an amazing charitable organisation! This funding will support SECE Mind to help people with mental health support and will act a bridge to future partnership with Shared Space. Thank you all those who took part and we look forward to making our friendship long-term”
